A QUICK REVIEW FOR OLA CABS
Ola Taxi Cabs is currently the biggest competition to the multinational Uber and has taken all over the India since Tata decided to invest on it. Yes, their network is growing day by day but what about the service? Here is a review of their service from personal experience.
OLA Cab Reviews
Their base fare rates vary from city to city. They charge first with a base fare for certain fixed distance then additional charge per extra kilometer. For example, If the base fare if Rs 99 for First 6 KMs. Then even if you travel 2-3 Kms, you have to pay at least Rs 99. If you have to travel to a distance more than 6 KM, they may charge you with additional fare like Rs 8 per KM. Hence, If you have traveled 8 Kms in distance, your total distance fare will be Rs 99+Rs 16 i.e Rs 115 in total.
However, thats not the only thing they charge. They generally charge for the waiting time also. For example, if you’ve called the Cab and you tell them to wait for a while, they will definitely charge you with fare around Rs 2 per minute. That is, this additional waiting time fare will also be added to your total fare of the journey.
The worst part of this service is, if you are going through a very crowded area or an route with lots of traffic lights, every time your vehicle stops , your waiting time counter will start and you will be charged.
The good part of their service is, as soon you book a cab on the App, they will call you instantly and will tell you the exact time they will take to reach to you. This generally helps if you are in an are where you don’t find any other conveyance.
Overall, it all depends on your journey. If you are travelling in the morning with no traffic rush , with turned off traffic lights, you will be charged lesser than if you travel through a route which has got lot of vehicle traffic or traffic lights.
Also, I’d advice to use a GPS Map if you can as many times some drivers may take you through a long route and will charge you more.
Before starting your journey, make sure you check the fare counter of your vehicle to avoid any extra fares.
